I can't even begin to tell you how much I love being outdoors. Something about the sights and smells that keep me grounded and finding what some may call their center or core to who they are. The unfortunate side to this is that as much as I love it, sometimes I hate it just as much do to the amount of mosquitos just thriving on the blood running through my brains. Do you know that it has been scientifically proven that most repellants and other defences against mosquitos have been proven to be either a myth or very low in percentage to help? I did some reading on these months ago and found that a lot of the big brand name companies tell you their product works for so many hours when actually you’re lucky to get a few minutes from it. Deet works great, however, it needs to be in such a high percentage that you shouldn't be putting it anywhere near your skin and on a hot summer evening how will you get around that?

Here is some information that may blow you away like it did me when I read it. There are always mosquitos where A was the least. A person whom is a heavy breather and exhausts more carbon dioxide is more attractive as well as a mother to be for the same reason along with running a couple of degrees warmer.

The time arrived and I was heading into the woods to check a trail camera for wildlife. Not a windy day so it was a great test time, I clipped it to my side and headed out. OMG.....I was bitten, nope that's just my knife digging into my leg through my shorts hahaha well that wasn't bright oooops. I was in the woods, wearing shorts for 40 minutes and I had two bites on me. Now you read this and say, "well it didn't work" and I would answer back with a "HELL YES IT DID!" Normally I go in and come out looking like I had just rolled around in poison ivy and not in a good mood at all.

Sitting around the campfire that very night which is something I don't last very long at, I was equally impressed. I set up the lantern on a small table and didn't say a word about it and either did my guests. They said nothing because they were not getting eaten by the bugs as they usually would be. In the end, with everything in the world today, my health and the health of my family are very important to me. If I can use a Thermacell unit and have it working for us the way these do without applying harmful chemicals to our bodies or wasting hard earned money on other tricks of the trade that have not worked in the past for me.... Well, I can assure you this is the way we will handle our mosquito issues going forward and with the Great folks at Thermocell, someone else will be able to see what I mean!
