First day of spring here again, (although it doesn't feel like it) and people start thinking about spring cleanup. I say what about safety?
Do you have a fire plan, fresh batteries in your smoke alarm, a small fire extinguisher??? I chose this topic as all I've been hearing about on the news is how someone senselessly lost their lives to a preventable fire.
Growing up I remember my classroom talk about fire prevention and them giving me a little book to take home and make a family plan together and it was fun and informative. I working with my family to find two routes out of the house in the case of a fire and where to all meet. No I'm not a fireman, nor do I have any family that is. I have, however, had some close calls through the years.
So take this time not only to clean out the clutter but to check all the safety materials in your home. Sit down and discuss what will work for you! When the time changes i use it as my alarm clock to make all these. changes. Do you have a plan and if so I'd like to hear how it may differ from mine. Remember, things can be replaced, however, people cannot. Take action today to keep everyone safe and in the know!
