It's HOW MUCH??
A recent trip to the theatre proved to be atrociously expensive and I have to point this out. Our tiny family of three using coupons (an adult admit 2 with popcorn an pop
as well as a child's admission). We were watching a 3D movie so an extra $9/glasses for the three of us which we had a card with leftover unused funds to cover. At the concession stand, I bought a small popcorn a kids combo and a very small package of peanut m&m's.......$26 and change. This bothers me to no end, a cartoon 1hr and 30min = $58.38 and by the time the movie started it was packed...how do you say no to your child once you have stepped into that lineup? What the heck cost so much that 3 people would have to pay this to go to a movie to recoup cost, surely not the popcorn or watered down soft drinks...The first thing that is brought up by anyone in the industry is piracy...I say it absolute greed! I would hate to see what people pay in a metropolis like Toronto or Montreal. Does anyone else find this crazy or am I just foolish? Don't get me wrong, I love my family and my time with them, however, to pay what was paid to look like this and watch a cartoon about a dog well that's just got me spinning my reels!
It is atrocious. I spent a mint on myself alone at the movies recently. I can only think it's because they are competing with home media. Kind of like the post office raising rates to compete with electronic mail delivery. You're right...it's hard to say no to your kid once you get there.
